Numerology Calculator: Find Your Life Path Number and God Number

What is a Life Path Number?
Your Life Path Number is one of the most important numbers in numerology. Derived from your full date of birth, it describes the energy and themes that define your journey through this life — the qualities you carry, the challenges you will face, and the potential you are working toward.
The calculation reduces your birth date to a single digit (or master number) by adding the digits of your day, month, and year separately, then summing and reducing the result. Life Path Numbers range from 1 to 9, plus master numbers 11, 22, and 33.

What is a God Number in Numerology?
The God Number — also called the Expression Number or Destiny Number — is derived from your full birth name using the Pythagorean cipher. Each letter of the alphabet maps to a value between 1 and 9. You add the values of every letter in your full name and reduce the total to a single digit or master number.
Where your Life Path Number describes your journey, the God Number describes your purpose: the destiny encoded in the name you were given at birth.

The Pythagorean Cipher
The Pythagorean cipher assigns numerical values to the 26 letters of the alphabet in a repeating 1 through 9 cycle: A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, F=6, G=7, H=8, I=9, J=1, K=2, L=3, M=4, N=5, O=6, P=7, Q=8, R=9, S=1, T=2, U=3, V=4, W=5, X=6, Y=7, Z=8. Named after the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, this is the most widely used numerological cipher in the Western tradition.

What Are Master Numbers?
Master numbers — 11, 22, and 33 — are not reduced further in Pythagorean numerology. They are considered to carry a higher vibrational frequency than single-digit numbers. Life Path 11 is the Illuminator, associated with heightened intuition and spiritual vision. Life Path 22 is the Master Builder, capable of turning impossible visions into enduring reality. Life Path 33 is the Master Healer, representing the highest expression of love and service. Approximately 9 percent of people carry a master number Life Path.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you calculate a Life Path Number step by step?
Write your full date of birth. Reduce the day, month, and year separately by adding their individual digits until each reaches a single number (preserving master numbers 11, 22, 33). Add the three values together and reduce again. Example: born April 22, 1988. Day 22 is a master number, kept as 22. Month is 4. Year 1+9+8+8=26, then 2+6=8. Total: 22+4+8=34, then 3+4=7. Life Path 7: The Seeker.
Should I use my married name or birth name for the God Number?
Use your full name exactly as it appears on your birth certificate. Your birth name carries the original numerological blueprint. Some numerologists also calculate for your current legal name to understand how it shapes your present life chapter — but for the core God Number, birth name is standard.
What is the difference between Life Path Number and God Number?
Your Life Path Number comes from your date of birth and describes your journey — the core energy and themes of how you move through life. Your God Number comes from your birth name and describes your destiny — the soul purpose you were born to fulfill. Think of the Life Path as how you walk and the God Number as where you are walking to.
Is the God Number the same as the Destiny Number or Expression Number?
Yes. Different numerological traditions use different names for the same calculation. The God Number in this calculator is the same as the Expression Number or Destiny Number used in classic Pythagorean numerology — derived from the sum of all letter values in the full birth name.
